GAF Roofing Warranty: A Quick Guide for Homes and Businesses
3G Roofing is a GAF Master Elite contractor. All contractors certified by GAF offer the base system warranty covering material defects and installation but Master Elite contractors like us are able to offer more generous terms via the System Plus and Golden Pledge warranties.
Think of the base warranty as standard while System Plus is better and Golden Pledge is the best of the three. All three warranties offer 100% coverage for material defects, but the coverage period for the base warranty is at 10 years (three or five years on 3-tab shingles) while it’s 50 years (20 years on 3-tab shingles) for System Plus and Golden Pledge. Additionally, labor costs are covered for a 10-year period for those with the base warranty while properties with System Plus or Golden Pledge warranties enjoy lifetime coverage.
System Plus and Golden Pledge Warranties
In terms of workmanship coverage, none are available for those with base warranties while System Plus warranty holders get two years, the typical coverage offered by roofing contractors. Get your roof installed by 3G Roofing, however, and you’re looking at GAF-backed workmanship for 25 years. This means even if we’re no longer in business, GAF will step in and honor your warranty should issues arise from the installation work we did.
What base, System Plus, and Golden Pledge warranties do have in common is that they all offer coverage for Category 3 hurricane wind speeds up to 130mph. They are also all transferable free of charge.

* Check ltd. warranties for complete coverage and restrictions. Also note:
- The word “Lifetime” means as long as the original individual owner of a single family detached residence (or the second owner in certain circumstances) owns the property where the shingles are installed. For owners/structures (e.g., a church) not meeting above criteria, Lifetime coverage is not applicable. See limited warranty for complete coverage and restrictions.
- Installer certification is only for installations covered by GAF system warranties.
- Maximum wind coverage requires special installation. See limited warranty for complete coverage and restrictions.
